Somatic Mindfulness workshops (Fundamentals, Connection, Grounding, Expansion & Radiance) elevate your massage practice, seamlessly bridging somatics and bodywork and embodying trauma-informed knowledge. Learn strategies to prevent burnout and reduce the risk of injuries, preparing clients for deep work with ease. Delve into somatic touch skills, cultivating mindfulness in action for enhanced therapeutic efficacy. The method inherently supports self-care, ensuring career longevity. Each workshop is self-contained, and there are no prerequisites to take each theme.

    • In Fundamentals, we explore the theory and experience of the power of this work’s essential principles.

    • In Connection, handles around several body planes and angles explore the body's sense of interrelation.

    • In Grounding, the emphasis is on the experience of proprioceptive rooting for balance and stability. Handles are explored around feet, legs, and hips and their interconnection with the rest of the body.

    • In Expansion, the emphasis is on the experience of emotional integration and efficient respiration. Handles are explored from the torso, back, arms, and shoulders and their interconnection with the rest of the body.

    • In Radiance, the emphasis is on the experience of untethered expression and upright lightness. Handles are explored from the neck, head, face, and shoulders and their interconnection with the rest of the body.

  • Learn the theory and techniques that complement your massage practice by developing, transmitting and sharing mindful presence in action in order to:

    • reduce or eliminate the potential of massage therapist burnout and/or related injuries;

    • ensure injury-free bodywork career longevity;

    • prepare the client's body for deep work with less strain.

    The techniques explored in these workshops were developed almost 100 years ago and have been used to manage symptoms of conditions such as Polio, MS and Parkinson’s. Moreover, the method includes the development and application of certain self-observation capabilities which are necessary to ensure the efficiency of the techniques and result in direct benefits to the therapist.

    Somatic Mindfulness is an evolution of the bodywork approach referred to as Tragerwork along with other ancient wisdom health systems. Tragerwork was originated by Milton Trager, MD and developed further by other masters. Over more than four decades since he started teaching it, many practitioners have refined, enhanced and widened the scope of the work.

    • It is a unique form of therapeutic bodywork that explores the body-mind connection through somatic exploration, aware touch and shared mindfulness.

    • It is highly effective in promoting flexibility, stability, freedom and greater body awareness by releasing habitual holding or tension patterns in the mind and body.

    • It promotes clarity of mind and reduced stress and/or anxiety.

    • It induces deep relaxation, can be part of a rehabilitation program, and can help enhance sports or artistic performance.

    • It is an experience that progressively and effortlessly transforms body and movement perceptions through new positive sensations.

    • It could be said that it is not a massage, it's a message.
